Corporate Courses

Dancing Warrior Yoga can arrange for their qualified, experienced instructors to hold courses in your workplace or organisation. All that is required is a commitment of staff to an eight week program, and, if the individuals are paying directly, a minimum of ten participants. If the program is to be paid by the employer, the course is priced as a whole, though we have a limit of twenty participants per class. Some employers choose to subsidise the course, rather than paying for the course outright.

Bringing yoga or pilates into the work place has many benefits, including better health, reduced work place injury rates, and improved moral. These in turn lead to higher productivity and contented staff!

All our yoga and pilates corporate classes have programs specifically developed for your needs, and can cater for all levels of experience and ability within a single course.

What is Yoga?

Dancing Warrior's corporate yoga, is a sequence of smooth, flowing physical postures linked together by a regulated breathing pattern. The postures taught are traditional Hatha yoga postures, The beauty of Hatha yoga is that the whole body receives a gentle workout, energising the body while a cool, soothing breath calms the mind. The exercises are taught progressively and can be done at varying intensity according to individual participants abilities.

Yoga offers an understanding of how unmanaged levels of stress and tension imprint upon the body both physically and mentally. Dancing Warrior's office yoga, teaches how to recognise and monitor stress levels effectively, before the rot sets in! The benefits to employees include regular release of stress and tension, greater postural awareness, full-breathing, deeper levels of concentration and relaxation. Your staff will return to work feeling energised yet peaceful, with a greater focus on the tasks that lie ahead.

Yoga provides the opportunity for a positive move in the way your employees manage their work, happiness, health and fitness. It's a pro-active and low-cost way of dealing with various issues such as combining work and life, preventative health, team building, and occupational health and safety. It also demonstrates your organisation's commitment to a balanced lifestyle for your staff.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a gentle form of exercise that concentrates on developing strength and core stabilisation to the spine, abdomen and buttocks region. Pilates lengthens, strengthens and tones the muscles and increases general flexibility. Emphasis is placed upon correct posture through gentle balance, alignment and coordination exercises. Specific breathing techniques are taught to maximise abdominal control and strength.

Mat-work classes are done on the floor using a yoga mat. Pilates mat-work will teach you how to apply the fundamental pilates principal to any exercise regime. The exercises are taught progressively and can be done either passively or actively. There is no tricky or awkward choreography that is too difficult to learn.

Pilates is great for people who spend their day sitting at a desk. It effectively lengthens and strengthens deep postural muscles which often fatigue from a day spent seated in a chair.

"In a short time, you will see and feel the benefits. After 10 session you will feel different, after 20 sessions you will look different, after 30 you will have a new body! What you can expect physically will be a total change in your body", Tracey Proctor, pilates teacher.

A regular pilates practice trims and tones the body - stomach and buttocks will become firm and toned, legs and arms will be stronger, posture will improve and energy levels will increase.
